Signing in to Kwote
The first time, have your invitation email and your phone at hand.
The first time
-
Open the invitation. The email "You're invited to Kwote" has your sign-in (your email address) and a temporary password. It works for 3 days.
-
Sign in and choose your password. Tap "Sign in at app.kwoteapp.com". Tick "This is my own device" if it is, and continue. Enter your email address and the temporary password. Then choose your own password: at least 12 characters, with a capital letter, a small letter and a number.
-
Set up the authenticator app (only the first time). Install Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator on your phone. Open it and scan the QR code on the screen.
-
Type the 6 digits. Type the 6 digits the app shows. Keep the app: it is your backup.
-
Add a passkey. On a device where you ticked "This is my own device", Kwote offers "Add a passkey" once. You can also add one later on the Account page. Choose it and unlock the way you unlock your phone or laptop: Face ID, fingerprint, or your PIN or computer password.
Every time after that
From now on: enter your email address, then unlock with Face ID, fingerprint or PIN.
If something goes wrong
- A new phone or laptop: your passkey usually comes along, because Apple, Google or Microsoft keep it for you. If not, sign in with your password and authenticator code, and add a passkey again.
- A lost phone: email kwoteapp.za@gmail.com. We reset your authenticator so you can sign in and set it up again on your new phone. Then choose Remove all passkeys on the Account page and add them again on your own devices.
- A shared computer: leave "This is my own device" off, don't add a passkey, and always choose Sign out when you finish.
- The invitation expired: ask whoever invited you to send it again.
